Programme profile
This programme can only be taken as a Joint Honours programme, with the UCD Arts structure.
Do you know why the Spanish climate is more suited to growing wine and olives than the Irish climate? Or have you ever wondered why certain religious, ethnic or social groups tend to congregate in particular places rather than being spread out around a city? Geographers observe patterns in space and examine the processes that generate these. Physical and human geographers are distinguished by their interests in natural or social processes, but both have a fundamental interest in the interaction of humans with the planet. The perspective of geographers makes them uniquely suited to examining issues of global, regional and local sustainability

Stage 1 introduces you to Physical and Human Geographies at a planetary scale.
